NuWave Marine has top-quality replacement MerCruiser 4.3 manifolds to redo your exhaust system. Marine exhausts are complex systems that need routine maintenance. An imperfect seal or a crack could lead to water flowing into your motor, which could have catastrophic results. We recommend inspecting your MerCruiser exhaust every year, and replacing it every five years for saltwater use. If you have a freshwater boat, you’ll find that parts likely last longer, but it’s still important to do an annual inspection.
4.3 MerCruiser Intake Manifold
The intake manifold is one of the most important parts of the MerCruiser 4.3 exhaust. The 4.3 MerCruiser manifold collects spent gasses from three pistons and passes it along to the riser. Six-cylinder 4.3 engines have two manifolds, one to collect exhaust from each side. Since manifolds have to put up with a lot of heat and vibrations while the engine is running, it’s possible even well-made designs will suffer wear and tear related to this stress. Make sure you check for cracks as fissures. The area around the gasket seals can also suffer damage from use. Make sure it gets extra attention during your yearly inspection. If it seems like your gaskets are aging faster than they should, it might have to do with a damaged manifold or riser.
4.3 MerCruiser Exhaust Manifold Conversion Kit
Older 4.3 V6 MerCruiser engines used a “one piece” manifold design. If you’re replacing the exhaust system on one of these engines (made in the 90s or earlier), you’ll need a conversion kit. NuWave Marine carries 4.3 MerCruiser intake manifold conversion kits, as well as MerCruiser 4.3 exhaust Y-pipes that are used to combine the output of a dual manifold exhaust.
